Vacation

Squeeze Play

“When we were in St. Martin, I saw a great opportunity to take a nice picture of my husband and son. Right as I snapped the picture my son pinched my husband in a “sensitive spot”….the result was unexpected, classic, and very awkward!”

Black Smoke Beach

“This is what happens when you google search a beach that you aren’t familiar with. This beautiful and ‘quiet’ beach was just a staircase leading down into the water. There was a constant stream of people leaving who looked disappointed.”

Water Hazard

“When I was about 4 or 5 years old, my mom subjected me to the horror that is Splash Mountain at Disneyland.”

Hot Tub Bling

“I’m in front, brother in back, mom on right.  In a hot tub in a garage in Vail, CO ~1977 after a day of skiing. Brother with very unfortunate head gear (how come kids don’t have to wear that anymore?).  Brother and I were in inner tubes, for some reason.  I’m pretty sure my mom DOES have a swimsuit on.”

Down In The Dells

“Family trip to Wisconsin Dells, 1989. After several takes, this is the best shot we could get. I’m the one in the middle.”

Blaze Of Glory

“This is me, my girlfriend and her son. We were having dinner by the river at her mom’s place. She lives in a hippie anarchist commune. I guess they like making big fires.”

Fits For A Queen

“This is a family vacation photo from 2002 and we were visiting the Queen Mary in California. Getting a nice group picture was challenging. Someone was always sneezing, talking, looking away or making a face in every image. This photo has all of the above. Only one of us was actually looking nice for the camera.”
