An Easter Possession

“This photo has baffled my family since it was taken on Easter 1984. When my mom got the photo back, she immediately had me try to pose like this and I couldn’t. We’ve never figured it out. No photoshop, and I assure you I am neither possessed by a demon nor anywhere near that flexible.”

Men In Back

“This was taken after my sister’s white coat ceremony for vet school. We didn’t realize we probably shouldn’t have posed like this until after the pic. Not exactly the style we were going for.”

Piggyback

“My Mom wanted my sister and I to pose together for dance recital photos. She wanted something unusual and suggested this. The photographer thought it was a swell idea.”

Face To Face

“My cousin and his now-wife, from their engagement photoshoot. They love to stay healthy and love to share… so here they are splitting a cool refreshing drink from the public water fountain.”

Solo Twister

“My brother loves playing video games. This is how he plays them.”

Trouble With The Pose

“My mother took this picture and clearly I was going for the ‘hand on the hip’ pose’, but missed my mark. I don’t know why Mom didn’t point out that it looks like I’m punching myself. (And this picture was framed at my grandparent’s house.)”

Lean In

“I don’t know what this pose is all about. It looks like our backs hurt or we are all going to puke in the next 10 seconds. All my friends say it looks like an advert for a family-TV-Show in the early 90s but I think the photo is from 2001.”

Where Do I Put My Arms?

“I’m the one next to my Dad, holding my arms in like I’m surrounded by lepers. In the years since, I’ve taken more natural photos with my family, but this one can still be seen today on top of my Mom’s TV.”

Freebird

“This is my friend posing with his older sister. It looks like she’s riding on his back, but actually he’s wearing her shoes on his hands. Perched upon her shoulder is my friend’s beloved bird, Sebastian.”

Cute Enough To Eat

“Me and my 9-month-old daughter. What? I was merely measuring her head.”
