Dad felt my school band photo failed to capture the spirit of my role in the North Stafford High School marching band, so he decided to stage a photo of me in my uniform…in the woods…in a chair that just happened to be there…without my sax. I think I look like the young regent of Sherwood Forest, perhaps its constable, given the bobby hat. In the truest sense of the term, this is an awkward family photo.”
