The Awkward Wedding Contest
After receiving thousands of amazing photos, we’re proud to announce our winner. Congratulations to Carrie for winning the contest and a $1000 Amazon.com gift card! Here’s the story in her own words:
“This is my husband and I on the morning of our wedding 20 years ago. We were having studio pictures taken and the local photographer proudly rolled out this faux bay window and told my soon-to-be-husband to “peek in from outside.”
Congratulations to our two runners-up, Dina and Jamie and thanks to everyone in the AFP community for so many amazing submissions!
“What’s more awkward than your Grandfather choosing to pose in your wedding photos in a bolo tie and sandwiched in between wife number two and one? Realizing when you get your photos back that your grandma chose to be forever remembered as Nanny One Shoe.”
“We got married on the beach in Playa del Carmen, and while we expected others besides our guests to be watching the ceremony, we never expected this guy. My father in law kept trying to get him to move and he just kept on taking pictures of our wedding.”

The Awkward Sisters Photo Contest
After receiving the most submissions in AFP history (over 3,000!), we’re proud to announce our winner. Congratulations to Ashley for winning a $1000 Amazon.com gift card and for showing us a new, and extremely confusing, sisterhood bond! Here’s the story in her own words:
My sister (the legs in the picture) and I (the face) were taking dance pictures and the photographer wanted us to strike our favorite pose. My sister is 10 years older than me so needless to say, we came home with an entertaining conversation piece!
Congratulations to our two runners-up, Melanie and Hannah and thanks to everyone in the AFP community for so many amazing submissions!
I remember being so proud that my sister and I had built a snowman. It wasn’t until years later that I understood why our parents thought it was so funny.
My sister and I were pregnant at the same time last year and we wanted to do something we would never forget. So on a cold October evening we braved the weather and met my photographer friend in the park. While we were taking pictures we all of a sudden noticed a flash from across the street – there was an old man standing on his apartment balcony taking our photos as well. We decided that was when we should call it quits – but not before we got this hilarious photo among a few others.

Awkward Vacation Photo Contest
After receiving thousands of submissions, we’re proud to announce our winner! Congratulations to Emily Oller for being mauled by a herd of farm animals and for winning a $5,000 vacation! Here’s the story in her own words:
“This photo was taken at West Coast Game Park Safari located in Bandon, Oregon around 2000. Our family vacationed to Bandon every year and we would always visit the wildlife park because you could get ice cream cones filled with deer food to feed and pet the deer and goats. As we walked into the park my sister saw a baby goat and picked it up while I was feeding one of the deer. Next thing I know I am bombarded by deer and goats. My parents snapped the photo of my cute sister without seeing me in the background. The rest of the vacation involved a horseback trip that ended up a disaster. My sister was bucked off. My mom’s horse started to roll with her on its back, my dad lost his cell phone in thick prickly bushes and my horse reared up and galloped away from the group.”
And here’s Ed Helms on Good Morning America calling Emily (on a rotary phone) to tell her she’s won!
Congratulations to our other two finalists, Laura & Stacey and thanks to everyone in the AFP community for so many amazing submissions!
“Our family vacation was rained out basically the entire trip in Florida. We all flew in from all different parts of the country for a fun filled week of sun and parks and were literally rained out of every place. Here we are wearing our stinky plastic Disney rain gear and finally giving up on having any fun this trip.”
“Our first trip to Disney made for a few roller coaster fun memories. People keep asking us, “How did you get them to keep going on those rides?” “Bribery and lots of convincing,” is our answer.”
And don’t forget to check out Vacation in theaters today! It’s hilarious.
