Whiter Shade Of Pale

“When my father got remarried after my parent’s divorce, my mother went through the family albums and cut him out of all of the family photos. Using scissors became too labor intensive, so she switched to white-out.”

61 Pins

“Our daughter was in gymnastics and her hands were very calloused.  She thought she would see how many stick pins she could insert into the callouses.  She ended up with 61!  Makes a mother proud.”

Bad Bunny

“Easter 1992 complete with a murderous bunny waiting in an unfinished church basement? The best part of this photo is that no one in my family has any recollection of this Easter event.”

Clown Funeral

“Visiting my Grandfather’s grave in 1997. I’m the one looking in the camera, hoping my Mother’s clown gene is recessive.”

Porcelain Pose

“That was me about fifteen years ago. My family and I were at the San Antonio River Walk visiting my brother at boot camp. My mom had been trying to get good pictures of me all day, and after getting none, she took me into the bathroom and said ‘I wish you would pose nice for one photo!’ And when she turned around, I was posed on the toilet just like that. ‘How’s this mom?'”

Blood Brothers

“My husband, the blonde, punctured his kidney while wrestling with his brother who is posing on the right. His injury caused him to pee blood and resulted in major surgery. And his little brother couldn’t have been prouder.”

The Hitchhikers

“That’s my little sister hanging out the back window, as the bears were visiting the front windows. What were my parents thinking?”

Signs

“My aunt took me to my first (and only) Broadway audition for Annie. Yes. Annie on Broadway. She put me in a room with professional singers, dancers, and actresses for a shot at the lead role. Her belief in me was nothing short of fantastical. I had no professional headshots (or singing or acting or dancing experience), so they took a Polaroid of me for the audition. Pretty sure the sign above me was merely a coincidence.”
